6. GPS Location and Web App Data

During active competitions, the Predatortour mobile application collects GPS location data for the following purposes:

• The Predatortour Web App includes an integrated GPS-based location tracking system that is a mandatory and essential part of participation in the competition. GPS tracking is used exclusively for competition management and participant safety, and only operates during officially declared competition hours.
• The purpose of GPS tracking is strictly limited to: (i) ensuring compliance with competition rules, including designated fishing zones and speed restrictions; (ii) preventing fraud and ensuring fair competition; and (iii) safeguarding participants and enabling emergency response coordination in case of incidents on the water.
• GPS tracking is only active for registered and actively participating teams during competition periods. No tracking takes place outside competition hours. Users who download or use the App without participating in the competition are not subject to any form of location tracking.
• Location data is collected via the participant’s own mobile device. No external tracking devices are used. Participants are required to keep location services enabled during competition hours. Disabling, manipulating, or obstructing GPS functionality during competition is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate disqualification, unless a verifiable technical malfunction is reported to the organization without delay.
• The legal basis for processing is the necessity for the performance of the competition agreement (participation conditions), the legitimate interests of the organiser (including safety, fraud prevention, and event integrity), and, where applicable, compliance with legal obligations imposed by competent authorities for event organisation and safety requirements. Participation is not possible without the activation of GPS tracking.
• GPS data is processed in real time and is not used for profiling, marketing, behavioural analysis, or any purpose beyond competition management and safety. Location data is not stored beyond what is strictly necessary for real-time operational use and limited post-event verification in case of disputes or incidents. After the competition period, GPS tracking is deactivated and no longer accessible.
• GPS data is not shared with third parties, is not sold, and is not made publicly available. Disclosure only occurs where strictly necessary for safety purposes (e.g. emergency services) or where required by law. Appropriate technical and organisational security measures are implemented to protect location data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse, and access is strictly limited to authorised personnel of the organiser.
• By participating in the competition, participants acknowledge that GPS tracking via their mobile device is a mandatory condition of participation and explicitly consent to the processing of location data as described above. Refusal to enable GPS tracking or withdrawal of required permissions will result in exclusion from participation.
